A kit of the Panzer 38(t) tank in the cartoon styling of the World War Toons range. The model is supplied unassembled.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Panzer 38(t) is a light tank of Czechoslovak origin. It came about in the second half of the nineteen thirties, and after the occupation of the rest of the republic in 1939 production was turned over to the German army; the letter in brackets in the German designation marked out precisely the machines taken over from Czechoslovak production. It was armed with a 37 mm gun and relied more on reliability and mobility than on armor. As a battle tank it grew obsolete quickly, but its chassis proved so successful that a whole range of tank destroyers and self-propelled guns were later built on it.
The World War Toons range works with deliberately exaggerated proportions: the hull is shortened, while the turret and the barrel are enlarged. It therefore does not reduce the subject faithfully, and no scale is stated for these models. The recognition features of the tank stay legible all the same, so the subject is clear at first sight. On a tank that means above all the short chassis with large road wheels and the bulky turret, which on a faithful reduction would look out of place. The finished model is small for it and fits into a display case even beside a classic kit under construction.
It is supplied as an unassembled kit. The extent of the parts, the way they are joined and whether the box holds markings are given in the manufacturer's instructions; check them before you reach for the glue, because some kits of this type do without glue altogether.
It suits a quick and undemanding build, a gift and a piece of relaxing work between two large projects. Paints, glue and tools are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
