Meng World War Toons Tiger (P) VK 45.01 is a stylized cartoon kit of the heavy tank in a cute egg-shaped rendering with no scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
An entertaining plastic kit from the World War Toons range by Meng. It is not a scale model but a cartoon, deliberately rounded rendering (an egg or cute model) of the Tiger (P) heavy tank, that is the VK 45.01 development version with the Porsche chassis. In this range the parts tend to be worked out so that the build is quick and accessible, often snapping together without the need for complicated gluing.
The VK 45.01 (P) was the competing Porsche design for a heavy tank, which lost the contest for the production Tiger to the Henschel version. A number of the chassis were then used as the basis for the Ferdinand and Elefant heavy tank destroyer. The model takes the characteristic features from the real subject but deliberately turns them into a caricature, cute in shape with a big gun and a short hull.
A cartoon model is suitable for beginners and younger modelers too. Even so it comes out well once painted and with the details lightly brought out. Finish the tracks and the running gear before fitting the hull, and matte shades and a light patina suit the surfaces.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
