A themed paint set from the IONIC range aimed at Italian armored vehicles from 1939 to 1943.
Responsibility details are not available.
This paint set from the IONIC range is put together for Italian armored vehicles from 1939 to 1943. Italian machines of that time most often carried light sand and khaki tones, over which darker patches in green and brown were applied on some vehicles. The finish also aged quickly in the Mediterranean and in North Africa: the sun bleached it, dust lightened the lower parts and the base showed through on the edges and the places that were walked on.
Stir the contents of the container thoroughly before work. Lay the base tone on in thin coats, so that the rivets, hatches and fine surface stay legible, and only draw the camouflage patches onto a base that has dried. The thinner intended for this range and the thinning ratio are stated by the manufacturer on the packaging and those instructions take precedence. The patches on Italian vehicles tend to have a soft edge, so they spray well, but they can be painted with a brush too; just keep the paint more thinly diluted at the boundary of a patch. A lighter tone on the horizontal surfaces and a darker one in the shadows under the fenders gives a vehicle depth sooner than any other aging technique.
For modelers who build Italian vehicles from the Mediterranean or North Africa and do not want to hunt for shades one at a time, and for diorama builders, to whom sand and khaki tones suit equipment, crates and dusty surfaces in general.
The number of shades, their names and the volume of the containers are stated by the manufacturer on the packaging of the set. The model, glue and painting tools are not included, unless stated otherwise.
