Tamiya XF-22 RLM Grey, matte acrylic paint, 10 ml

Tamiya XF-22 RLM Grey is a model paint, not a kit: a bottle of a ready shade with a volume of 10 ml from the Acrylic MINI range. The letters XF at Tamiya mark a matte finish (gloss shades carry the designation X). The abbreviation RLM refers to the German system of aviation shades of the Second World War, and the manufacturer recommends this gray especially for the cockpit interiors of German aircraft.

Use

• Cockpits, instrument panels, landing gear bays and other interior surfaces of German aircraft; and in general a cool gray for small details and accessories.
• Applied with an airbrush and with a brush. Shake the bottle thoroughly before every use, because the pigment settles at the bottom.
• Thinned with X-20A acrylic thinner. Mind the confusion: X-20 is a thinner for enamel paints and is not suitable for this acrylic range.
• It covers better in two thin coats than in one heavy one, and a thin coat also does not flood the fine relief of rivets and panel lines.
• Lay a gloss coat under decals. On a matte surface air is trapped under the film and the decal silvers. You bring the matte look of the whole back with a final matte coat.
