A yellow fluorescent shade from the Precision Fluor range by AK Interactive for warning elements, indicators and the brightest center of glowing effects.
Responsibility details are not available.
A yellow fluorescent shade from the Precision Fluor range by AK Interactive. It suits the warning elements of construction and airfield machinery, beacons and reflective stripes, the lighting of instrument panels and the light panels of sci-fi hardware. It also serves well as the brightest center of glowing metal or of a flame, from which you then move out into orange and red.
Fluorescent pigment returns the incoming light at a different wavelength, so in daylight it looks neon and under an ultraviolet lamp it stands out most. It does not glow by itself in the dark; this is not a phosphorescent paint. Yellow pigments cover weakly and are the most sensitive of all to the base: over a gray or brown paint they go gray and lose their brightness.
A white base is essential here; without it the yellow will not stand out. Apply two or three thin coats with a pause for drying, as a heavy coat floods engraving and fine detail alike. On glowing metal, start with the yellow only in the hottest place and move smoothly into warmer shades, blending the transition with a dry brush. On warning stripes it pays to mask the outline first and apply the paint afterwards, as a sharp edge looks better than painting it in. For thinning and for cleaning your tools follow the manufacturer's instructions.
For builders of vehicles with warning elements, for diorama modelers and for figure painters who need a bright accent of light. The shade is sold on its own; the model, thinner and varnish are not included, unless stated otherwise.
