Buildings are the most approachable entry point into card modelling. Flat faces, right angles and large parts dominate, so a first house takes one afternoon and looks presentable straight away. Beyond standalone models they have a second use: backdrops and whole streets for scenes and railway layouts, where the same structure in plastic would cost incomparably more. Check the scale printed on the sheet before pairing a building with anything else: card architecture is usually drawn to railway sizes, so it sits naturally beside railway buildings and layout accessories and wants more care next to a 1:35 vehicle. Ground, fences and greenery to finish the plot are in diorama scenery and accessories.
