Seventy and 75 mm is the format for a painter who has had enough of microscopic work. At around seven centimetres there is room for a face, hair, decorated armour and the texture of cloth, and the subjects run from medieval knights to early modern warriors. The millimetre figure is a height rather than a scale, so these pieces are not mixed into scenes with vehicle models. Castings come unassembled and unpainted.
Most of the work goes on the face and the patterned surfaces: blending and edge control matter here in a way they do not at 54 mm, and a figure this size is finished on a turned plinth and viewed close up. Fine brushwork round the eyes repays a dedicated brush more than a wider palette, so start with the brushes section. Larger still are the 120 mm figures, and every size is under ŘOP figures.
