Spacecraft are unusually well suited to card. Launch vehicles, upper stages and probes are built largely from cylinders, cones and circular bulkheads, which is precisely the geometry a flat printed sheet handles best: long panels roll cleanly, seams fall on natural lines, and the print carries stencilling and technical markings that would otherwise mean hours of masking. A rolled booster with crisp lettering is one of the quickest routes to something that looks convincing on a shelf. Card asks for almost nothing on the bench beyond a sharp blade, a steel rule and a glue that will not cockle paper. The same subjects built from mouldings, with paint, decals and a stand, are in rocket and spacecraft model kits, and printed sheets on every other theme in card model kits.
