28mm North American Store (1800-1890)

Perry Miniatures 28mm - North American store

A plastic kit of a store in 28 millimeter size, designed for the North American landscape of the nineteenth century. The span from 1800 to 1890 means that the building serves for scenes from the Civil War just as well as for the later West. The material is hard plastic on sprues and it is glued with ordinary modeling cement.

What the building is for

A store is a more rewarding building on a gaming table than an ordinary house, because it usually has larger windows, a porch and a sign, that is, features that give a scene its character. It also tends to be at the center of a settlement, so the action naturally takes place around it. Once assembled it forms a solid whole that will stand repeated handling in play. On a diorama the store then explains why the settlement came about at all and what the people there did.

Building and painting tips

• Dry-fit the walls and check the right angles before you apply any glue.
• Apply the primer from a spray can, as the surfaces are large.
• Paint the boarded front board by board in slightly different tones.
• Add the sign and the advertising by hand or with a decal onto the finished paint.

Who it is for

For players of tabletop wargames and builders of dioramas of nineteenth-century North America.

The kit is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
