28mm American Civil War - Artillery 1861-1865 (18 Figures / 3 Guns) is a set of eighteen crew figures and three guns of the American Civil War.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of eighteen unpainted figures of artillery crew and three guns of the American Civil War, in 28 millimeter size. Three guns with full crews means a whole battery, so the set does not add just one piece but a complete firing section. The figures and the guns are in hard plastic and multi-part, so you put the crew poses together as you like.
Civil War artillery stood at the turn of two eras: alongside smoothbore barrels, rifled pieces with a considerably longer range were already appearing. At short range, though, canister shot was still used, which against advancing infantry worked like an enormous shotgun. The crew had precisely divided tasks and the rate of fire depended on how well drilled they were together.
Separate the parts from the sprue with nippers at a distance and trim the rest with a knife. They are glued with ordinary modeling cement for polystyrene. Paint the gun carriages separately and add the crews to them only at the end. The wood of the carriage and the metal gun barrel should be in clearly different shades, or the gun will merge into a single surface.
The figures are supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
