28mm American Civil War - Union Infantry Skirmishing 1861-1865 (38 Figures) is a set of thirty-eight figures of Union infantry in a loose skirmish formation.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of thirty-eight unpainted figures of Union infantry of the American Civil War, in 28 millimeter size, in poses for loose fighting: riflemen firing, kneeling, loading and rushing forward. The figures are in hard plastic and multi-part, so you put the poses and the weapons together as you like. The set adds to close formations the screen that moved ahead of them.
A loose skirmish screen was an inseparable part of every advance in the Civil War. A few men from each company went ahead to find the enemy and make his fire uncomfortable, and only behind them did the main line deploy. With the introduction of rifled muskets the distances lengthened and the role of these skirmishers grew markedly, because they could threaten even artillery crews.
Separate the parts from the sprue with nippers at a distance and trim the rest with a knife. They are glued with ordinary modeling cement for polystyrene. Apply a primer. Grade the blue uniform between the coat and the trousers. With a loose formation it also pays to turn the figures in different directions, so that the scene does not look like a row.
The figures are supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
