28mm American Civil War - Cavalry (12 Figures) is a set of twelve multi-part figures of American Civil War cavalry.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of twelve unpainted figures of cavalry from the American Civil War, 28 millimeters in size. The figures are made of hard plastic and are multi-part: riders, horses, heads and weapons are glued on separately, so you put the positions together as you see fit. Mounted sets tend to be smaller in number than infantry ones, because each figure takes up considerably more room on the table and the assembly is more laborious.
The cavalry of the Civil War fought differently from the European kind. A charge with the saber in close ranks was rather the exception, and it was more usual to dismount and fight as infantry, for which the troopers had short repeating carbines. Their main role was reconnaissance, screening an advance and raids on supply routes. It was in these tasks that the cavalry had more influence on the outcome of a campaign than in battle itself.
Separate the parts from the sprue with cutters at a distance and pare the rest off with a knife. They are glued with ordinary modeling cement for polystyrene. Paint the rider separately and seat him on the horse only at the very end. Vary the coat of the horses from figure to figure, because a uniform coloring would look artificial across twelve horses.
The figures are supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
