An injection-molded plastic kit from the Polish maker Arma Hobby. Tomahawk is the British name for the early versions of the American fighter with an inline engine, which its maker built on the proven airframe of the preceding type with a radial engine. The brand has this type in 1:72 worked out across several boxings.
Curtiss took the airframe of the Hawk 75 fighter and fitted a liquid-cooled inline engine onto it. What came out was a machine with an unmistakable long nose and the radiator beneath it, built in enormous numbers. The Tomahawk IIb corresponds to the American designation P-40C and the Royal Air Force deployed it above all in North Africa, where it proved itself more as a fast attack aircraft at low level than as a high-altitude fighter. The Soviet Union and Chinese units received large quantities as well.
Finish the cockpit and paint it before you glue the fuselage together, or you will no longer reach it. The parts are glued with liquid cement for plastic. Fit the glazing and mask it before spraying. Before the decals, go over the areas with a gloss coat; on a matte surface air would be trapped under a decal and the edge would turn white. Unify the finished paintwork with a matte varnish and only then add the chipping and the exhaust stains.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
