A set of weighted wheels for the Israeli Eitan wheeled armored personnel carrier with drive to all eight wheels, 1:35 scale, the maker DEF Model. The set reproduces the tread pattern of the Michelin XML type. This is not a vehicle kit but a replacement part, on which the flattened contact patch takes care of the impression of real weight. The manufacturer has designated the set for the Hobby Boss kit.
The Eitan is a modern Israeli wheeled carrier designed as a faster and less demanding complement to heavy tracked machines. Eight driven wheels give it a high speed on the road and at the same time decent cross-country mobility, while its protection takes account of improvised explosive devices. It is precisely on an eight-wheeled vehicle that a change of wheels shows most on a model, because there are simply a lot of them and all of them are visible.
Wash the parts in lukewarm water with dish soap and let them dry out; they are glued with super glue. Seat all the wheels with the flattened part pointing exactly downward and check that they stand in the same plane, otherwise the model will visibly rock on its base. Bring out the pattern with a dark wash and a dry brush, and then apply the dust mainly to the lower part of the wheel.
The set is an accessory to a plastic kit, not a model in its own right. The Hobby Boss kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
