The pack brings together two aids that are used side by side during a build. The first is a mask for the glazing in yellow masking tape, cut to the shape of the canopy framing. The second is foam plugs for the landing gear bays, which are pushed inside before spraying and taken out once the paint is dry. The set is aimed at the early version of the British Wyvern S.4 carrier aircraft from Trumpeter.
The Wyvern was a British carrier strike aircraft with turboprop power and contra-rotating propellers, an arrangement that appeared only rarely on production machines. It saw combat only briefly, in 1956 over Suez, and two years later its service ended. The early version differs from the later one mainly in the shape of the canopy, so a mask cut for one variant will not fit the other.
It suits anybody building this aircraft who wants the masking solved in one purchase. Both parts can also be had separately; this package has them together. The maker is a Czech brand specializing in masks and masking aids. Store the masks flat and do not expose them to heat, so that the adhesive layer stays usable.
The Trumpeter kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
