A pack of masks and plugs for the Whitley Mk.V bomber in 1:72 scale. A mask for the glazing plus foam plugs for the wheel bays. The target kit is the Whitley Mk.V by Airfix.
Responsibility details are not available.
The pack combines a glazing mask of yellow masking tape with foam plugs for the wheel bays. The mask is cut to the shape of the glazing frames, and the plugs are pushed into the open bays before spraying and taken out once the paint has dried. The target kit is the Whitley Mk.V by Airfix.
The Armstrong Whitworth Whitley was a British twin-engined night bomber which, together with other types, formed the backbone of Bomber Command in the early part of the Second World War. Its recognition feature was the oddly nose-down attitude of the fuselage in flight, a result of the fixed wing incidence. The Mk.V was the most numerous version and besides bombing it also served to drop paratroopers and to tow gliders.
It suits anyone building this bomber who wants masking solved in one purchase. The glazing of the cockpit and of the gun positions is busy on this type and masking it by hand with tape is slow work. Both parts are also sold separately. The maker is a Czech brand devoted to masks and masking aids. Store the masks flat and keep them away from heat so that the adhesive layer stays usable. On a twin-engined bomber it pays off to mask the cockpit and the gun positions at the same time and spray them in one go.
The Airfix kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
