A cast resin set of accessories for the Italian Autoblinda AB 43 armored car in 1:48 scale from the Czech maker Black Dog. It holds separate parts of equipment and cargo for the outer surfaces of a finished model. The base kit named is the AB 43 from Italeri. The set is not a model of the vehicle.
The Autoblinda AB 43 was the last development stage of the Italian AB series of armored cars. It was based on the AB 41 type but received a stronger engine and a new turret with a 2 cm cannon. It kept dual controls, so the driver and a second crew member could take the car forward and backward without turning it around, which was useful on narrow roads during reconnaissance. Because it arrived late, few vehicles were built and some of the completed ones ended up in German service.
First rinse the resin parts in lukewarm soapy water to remove the mold release residue. Cut the casting blocks off with a fine-tooth saw rather than snapping them. Sanding is better done under water or with respiratory protection. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue); solvent cement for plastic will not hold on resin. A primer is needed before painting. Spare wheels and tarpaulins along the sides of the car break up its smooth silhouette nicely.
The accessory set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
