A cast resin set of accessories for the Italian Camionetta AS.42 Sahariana desert reconnaissance car in 1:35 scale from the Czech maker Black Dog. It holds separate parts of equipment, supplies and cargo with which the load bed and the sides of a finished model are filled. As base kit it names the AS.42 Sahariana from Italeri.
The Camionetta AS.42 Sahariana was an Italian light car for long-range reconnaissance in North Africa, built on the mechanical components of the AB 41 armored car. It had a low open body, a large stock of fuel and water, spare wheels along the sides and a long range. Its armament varied from machine guns through 20 mm cannons to anti-tank rifles, and the cars served Italian desert groups modeled on the British long-range patrols.
First rinse the resin parts in lukewarm soapy water to remove the mold release residue. Cut the casting blocks off with a fine-tooth saw rather than snapping them. Sanding is better done under water or with respiratory protection. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue); solvent cement for plastic will not hold on resin. A primer is needed before painting. A desert car will take plenty of dust, but keep the jerrycans and tarpaulins distinct in color.
The accessory set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
