Two separate cast telegraph poles in 1:35 scale from the Czech maker Black Dog. Unlike the bases in the same range, these are separate elements without a baseplate, so they can be set into any scene or onto a base of your own. The count of two pieces is stated by the manufacturer.
Telegraph poles lead the eye upward and give a scene its scale, because everybody can picture their height. A pair of poles also makes it possible to suggest a line of wires running across the scene, which is more effective than a single pole: the eye completes the continuation of the road beyond the edge of the base. The wires are run separately, usually from fishing line or thin wire, and it is a good idea to give them a slight sag.
First rinse the resin base in lukewarm soapy water and let it dry, or the paint will not hold on the smooth surface. Level any casting flash with a file. Apply thin coats of primer; a heavy coat would fill in the engraved detail. The surfaces come out well after a dark wash and a light pass with a dry brush.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and other accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
