The box holds ten F1 helmets in 1:48 scale: six with a fabric cover and four with a cover and goggles. This is the basic variant intended to be set on the head of a figure; it has no stylized inner part, and anyone who wants to leave the helmet lying upside down will find a version with an interior from the same manufacturer. It is not a figure or a kit, but an accessory from 3D printing in resin, which the Czech Firma49 supplies unpainted.
The French F1 helmet, officially the Modèle 1978, was the last French steel helmet: a one-piece shell of about 1.2 mm non-magnetic steel weighing around 1.2 kg. The army introduced it in 1978 and from 1992 began to replace it with the composite SPECTRA. Typical is the fabric cover pulled on with a rubber ring, so in pictures from the 1980s and 1990s the helmet is usually seen with the cover on.
Before removing the print supports, drilling or cutting, the manufacturer recommends dipping the parts in hot water or warming them with a hair dryer: the resin softens, does not chip off and regains its original hardness once cool. The parts are then sanded and drilled as usual, glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue) and painted with ordinary modeling paints. The manufacturer recommends spraying a primer before painting. The manufacturer gives that the helmets are sized to its own heads, which measure about 4.6 mm from the forehead to the crown and 4 mm across the ears in 1:48. The cover is painted as fabric, that is matte and with the folds picked out, so that it differs from the smooth steel.
The set is supplied unpainted. Paints, glue, figures and the base model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
