An injection-molded plastic kit of the German eight-wheeled armored car Sd.Kfz. 234/4 with the 7.5 cm anti-tank gun, in 1:35 scale. This is the original version of the mold from 2006, to which, according to the manufacturer, photo-etched parts, a turned metal barrel and brass width indicators for the fenders were supplied. The manufacturer also keeps the newer, reworked version from 2013 with newly rendered suspension and steering, a one-piece chassis frame and deflectable wheels, but already without the metal barrel and without photo-etched parts. You will recognize which version you are holding from the packaging.
The Sd.Kfz. 234/4 was the most heavily armed member of the Sd.Kfz. 234 line of eight-wheeled armored cars. On it the turret gave way to an open superstructure with the 7.5 cm anti-tank gun PaK 40 L/46. Propulsion was provided by a Tatra V-twelve diesel, the chassis had steerable wheels at both ends and a second driving position for reversing, which was valued in reconnaissance. Only 89 vehicles were built between December 1944 and March 1945; a powerful gun on a light exposed chassis was an emergency solution of the end of the war.
First straighten the photo-etched parts on a hard surface and glue them with cyanoacrylate; they do not react to plastic cement. Degrease the metal barrel and give it a primer, otherwise the paint will not hold on it. Paint the interior of the open superstructure before you close it with the shield, and fit the wheels onto a finished chassis so that you align them in one direction.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not part of the package, unless stated otherwise.
