This is NOT a model of the vehicle, but a replacement set of wheels for an already purchased kit of the Sd.Kfz. 251 half-track carrier in 1:35 scale. The content is nine wheels in three period tire patterns - Dunlop, Continental and Fulda - so you can choose the pattern according to the particular machine, the period or the photograph you are building from. The manufacturer gives a finely worked tread pattern, the markings of the tire makers on the sidewalls and detail on the wheel discs. The parts are printed on a 3D printer and are supplied unpainted. The subject was created by Laurent Lecocq.
The Sd.Kfz. 251 was the standard German medium half-track armored personnel carrier of the Second World War, whose design was developed by the Hanomag company. Only the steered front axle carries wheels, the rest of the running gear being tracks, so the set is aimed at precisely that wheeled axle. The vehicle was built in the Ausf. A to D versions and the most numerous was the late Ausf. D. Dunlop, Continental and Fulda were all real period tire makers, so the choice of pattern is a factual decision, not just a decoration.
First wash the printed parts free of resin residue and cut the remains of the supports off carefully. Protect your breathing when sanding. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue, as ordinary cement for plastic will not join these parts, and a primer coat is mandatory here, or the paint will not hold on the smooth surface. Compare the finish with a photograph of the machine you are building.
This is an accessory for a model, not a kit. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
