This is NOT a model of the vehicle, but a replacement for the original wheels from the kit of the Sd.Kfz. 251 half-track carrier in 1:35 scale. The manufacturer gives the content: three tires and one separate wheel disc. Unlike the large set in the same range, which carries three different patterns, this one has a single pattern: the period Dunlop Gelände tread, including authentic Dunlop markings on the sidewalls. That is the main buying distinction - anyone who wants to choose between patterns looks for the set with nine wheels, and anyone who knows they need Dunlop will manage with this one.
The Sd.Kfz. 251 was the standard German medium half-track armored personnel carrier of the Second World War, whose design was developed by the Hanomag company. Only the steered front axle has wheels, the rear running gear being tracks, so the set is aimed at precisely that wheeled axle. The vehicle was built in the Ausf. A to D versions, and the most numerous was the late Ausf. D. Dunlop was a real period tire maker, so the choice of pattern is a factual decision according to a photograph of the machine.
The parts are printed on a 3D printer. Wash them free of resin residue, cut the remains of the supports off carefully and protect your breathing when sanding. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue, as ordinary cement for plastic will not join them. A primer coat is mandatory, or the paint will not hold on the smooth surface. Compare the finish with a photograph of the machine you are building.
This is an accessory for a model, not a kit. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
