Responsibility details are not available.
A plastic kit of the rebel fighter craft X-wing from the Star Wars film saga in 1:112 scale. The manufacturer is the German company Revell. The Model Set edition means that besides the sprues with the parts, the decal sheet and the instructions the package also holds basic paints, a brush and glue; the kind of paints is stated on the box. The set has about two dozen parts, so it belongs among builds for one evening and it suits a first model as well.
The X-wing is the best-known fighter craft of the rebels. It got its name from the four wings that open out into the shape of the letter X before combat and so uncover the laser cannons at their tips. A single pilot sits at the front, and behind the cockpit the craft has room for an astromech droid that looks after navigation as well as repairs in flight. In the stories it is linked above all with Luke Skywalker and with the attack on the first Death Star.
Think through beforehand whether you want the wings opened into the combat position or folded for flight — with a plastic kit the position is chosen when gluing. The base finish is a dirty white; once it has dried, suggest the panels and the colored stripes by the cockpit and on the wings with a darker paint. Scorch marks by the engines and a fine dark tint in the grooves will give the model the look of service. Put the decals on dry paint. Choose the thinner according to the kind of paints from the box.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. With the Model Set edition the basic paints, a brush and glue are, according to the manufacturer, part of the package; other accessories are not.
