An injection-molded plastic kit of the famous ocean liner R.M.S. Titanic in the small 1:1200 scale from the German manufacturer Revell. It is a starter set (model set) for beginners which, besides the parts, also holds basic paints, glue, a brush, decals and a display stand. Thanks to the low number of parts and the compact size of the finished model, about 22 cm long, the set is manageable even for complete newcomers and at the same time makes a handsome collector's piece.
R.M.S. Titanic was a British ocean liner of the White Star Line and, at the time of her completion, one of the largest and most luxurious ships in the world. On her maiden voyage from a European port to New York in 1912 she sank in the North Atlantic after striking an iceberg, which became one of the best-known maritime disasters in history. Her four tall funnels and long elegant hull are characteristic.
Separate the small parts carefully and glue them with thin cement for plastic; at this scale tweezers help. Paint the hull and the decks before the final assembly, and unify the funnels with the typical combination of yellow and black. The paints supplied are enough for the basic scheme, and fine details can be managed with brush paint. Place the finished model on the stand supplied.
The set holds an unassembled and unpainted model; the paints, glue, brush and stand are part of this starter package.
