Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the Soviet supersonic airliner Tupolev Tu-144 in 1:144 scale from Zvezda. It is a new tooling; although the scale is small, the dimensions of the real subject make the finished model large and striking in a display case. The kit contains parts for the fuselage, the wings, the tail surfaces and the cockpit for building a realistic model of this iconic Concordski.
The Tu-144 was the first supersonic airliner in the world — it first flew on 31 December 1968, a few months before the British and French Concorde. It carried up to around 150 passengers at roughly twice the speed of sound at altitudes of about 16 to 17 kilometers. It flew in scheduled passenger service only briefly in the second half of the 1970s and afterwards served mainly as a flying laboratory.
Align the long fuselage and the delta wing carefully and sand the seams — under a mostly white finish every irregularity shows. Apply a good white primer and spray the surfaces with an airbrush; white calls for more thin coats. Mask the cockpit glazing and the characteristic drooping nose. Bring out the panel lines with a very fine light gray wash, so that the model does not look dirty.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
