An injection-molded plastic kit of the German mobile field kitchen on an AHN truck in 1:35 scale from the Ukrainian brand ICM, complemented by figures of cooks and their helpers. In the package you will find a wheeled field kitchen, an AHN truck, a set of period accessories and the figures, which makes the set ideal for building a genre scene from the rear area.
German field kitchens earned the nickname Gulaschkanone, literally goulash cannon, from the soldiers because the shape of the chimney resembled a gun barrel. The kitchens were often carried on the beds of trucks, among them the French AHN vehicles serving in the Wehrmacht. They provided hot food for units in the field; the cooking was handled by trained cooks with assigned helpers, and the finished food was handed out straight into mess tins or into large insulated containers.
Glue the vehicle, the kitchen and the figures with thin model cement for plastic; use cyanoacrylate glue (super glue) for small accessories if needed. Apply a primer and spray the paints with an airbrush; on the figures and the accessories brush painting and fine shading pay off. You will bring the metal and wooden parts of the kitchen to life with a wash in the recesses, and you will unify the whole scene with dust pigments for the impression of service in the field.
