A 3D-printed resin set of AK-47 weapons in 1:35 scale from GINGER CAT. The manufacturer gives five pieces in the package. The weapons can be put into the hands of figures, leaned against a wall, laid on the bed of a vehicle or placed around a scene; in the same sub-line the manufacturer also lists other small arms, so a whole patrol can be armed consistently.
The AK-47 is a Soviet assault rifle in 7.62 mm caliber, introduced at the end of the 1940s, and the most widespread firearm in history. It owes that to its simplicity, its resistance to dirt and dust and its undemanding production, so it was built under license and unofficially all over the world. It appears in the armament of armies and of insurgent groups and even on the flags of states, and a modeler can therefore use it from the Korean War right up to present-day conflicts.
3D-printed parts are small and brittle: separate them with a fine-tooth saw or with nippers and level the remains of the print supports with a fine file. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue); solvent cement for plastic does not hold. Before painting, spray a thin coat of primer, as a heavy coat would drown the detail.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
