This is a precisely turned metal barrel from the manufacturer Aber intended for models of light armored vehicles armed with the Rheinmetall Rh202 automatic cannon of 20 mm (the MK 20 DM6 system). It is neither a kit nor a model in its own right, but a replacement part that on a finished kit replaces the less accurate plastic barrel. The package holds the barrel alone, and the part is in 1:35 scale.
The Rh202 cannon of 20 mm was among the typical armament of West German reconnaissance and airborne vehicles of the Cold War. It was carried by vehicles such as the Wiesel, the wheeled reconnaissance Luchs or the Marder fighting vehicle. A turned metal barrel faithfully captures the perforation and the stepping of the real cannon, which is hard to reproduce on plastic parts.
Cut off the plastic barrel on the model and clean it up, then fit the metal part in its place. For gluing metal to plastic cyanoacrylate glue (super glue) works well. Degrease the metal before painting and lay on a base coat (primer) for metal, so that the paint holds well.
This is a metal accessory set, not the model itself. For the fitting the matching kit is needed, and it is not included in the package.
