Bundeswehr vehicle crews in 1:35 scale from Das Werk. Four figures and eight heads in two readings: the gear of the 1980s and the present-day form.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of figures, not a vehicle kit. It contains four figures and eight heads, so each figure can be built in one of two forms. Two figures represent a driver and a passenger in uniforms of the 1980s with a choice between a side cap and a beret, while the remaining pair carries the gear of the first decades of the twenty-first century with a choice between a helmet and a field cap. One package therefore covers a crew from the Cold War as well as a present-day one.
A vehicle model without people reads as an exhibit. A figure adds scale, a direction of gaze and a story, and turns a static model into a moment. The poses are designed so that the figures fit as wide a range of vehicles as possible, that is in a hatch, behind the wheel and beside the vehicle. The eight heads also make it possible to use the same figure twice without repeating yourself.
Build the skin from a darker base toward the light and suggest the eyes with shadow rather than with a drawn line, because in this scale every strong line looks overdone. The uniform of the 1980s is told apart from the present-day one not only by its cut but also by its tone: the older field uniform is more muted, the newer camouflage has a stronger pattern. Fill the joints at the shoulders and the collar, otherwise they will stand out once the paint is on.
The figures are supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the vehicle are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
