A set of five printed resin Colt 1911 pistols in 1:35 scale from the Turkish brand Ginger Cat. The manufacturer designed them in house and makes them by high-resolution resin printing; according to its figures the parts need only minimal clean-up. The box gives the count of five pieces. These are accessories for figures and for a scene, not a kit.

What it is suited to

The Colt 1911 is a semi-automatic pistol that appeared at the beginning of the twentieth century and lasted in army service for most of the following one, so it turns up from the First World War through the Second to modern times. In a diorama it belongs to commanders, vehicle crews, pilots and everyone who does not carry a long weapon. With this set the manufacturer highlights the faithfully rendered outline, slide, grip panels and trigger guard.

Usage tips

First wash the printed resin parts in warm soapy water so that the print residue disappears from the surface and the paint will hold. Cut off the supports with a saw or a cutting disc, never with nippers, which will break the resin. The manufacturer recommends applying a base before painting. Glue the parts with cyanoacrylate glue or epoxy, as cement for plastic will not hold here. A dark wash into the recesses and a drybrush on the edges will draw out the detail. Wear a respirator while sanding.
