An Aber turned metal barrel in 1:35 scale for the 37 mm KwK 35/36 tank gun with a barrel length of 46.5 calibers, which armed the early versions of the Pz.Kpfw. III medium tank, specifically the Ausf. A to F. It is a detail accessory, not a tank kit.
The Pz.Kpfw. III was the standard German medium tank of the first half of the war. The early Ausf. A to F versions carried a 37 mm gun, the same caliber as the ordinary Pak 35/36 infantry anti-tank gun. Against the armor of French and later Soviet tanks it proved inadequate, and the vehicles were gradually rearmed with a 50 mm gun. The early machines with their short, slender barrel are an attractive subject from the campaigns of 1940 and 1941.
The set replaces the plastic barrel from the kit. Cut off the original part, level the seat and dry-fit the metal barrel first, so that both the axis and the depth of insertion are right. Bond it with super glue or epoxy; cement for plastic does not work on metal. Degrease the metal before spraying and lay down a metal primer. The advantage of the turned part is the precisely drilled muzzle and a perfectly straight barrel with no parting seam that would have to be sanded away.
This is a detail accessory set for modelers, not a kit. The model itself, glue and paints are not included in the package.
