A 3D-printed resin set of six military crates in 1:35 scale from GINGER CAT. The manufacturer lists them separately from the large transport crates and from the civilian ones, so a modeler can choose according to the subject of the scene. The crates can be stacked, placed around the ground or loaded onto a vehicle.
Compared with civilian ones, military crates usually have a more regular shape, more pronounced fittings and lettering, so in a scene they give away a military setting at once. In a diorama they serve two purposes: they fill empty areas and at the same time explain what is happening in the place, whether it is a field depot, a loading ramp or a unit being resupplied. When painting, it pays to give each crate a different shade of wood, so that the heap does not look mass-produced.
3D-printed parts are small and brittle: separate them with a fine-tooth saw or with nippers and level the remains of the print supports with a fine file. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue); solvent cement for plastic does not hold. Before painting, spray a thin coat of primer, as a heavy coat would drown the detail.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
