Mobile solar panel, 1:35 — a 3D-printed resin mobile solar panel for dioramas in 1:35 scale from GINGER CAT.
Responsibility details are not available.
A 3D-printed resin mobile solar panel in 1:35 scale from GINGER CAT. The manufacturer gives one piece in the package. It is a scenic accessory that places a scene in the present; it suits modern military positions, civilian scenes and a post-apocalyptic setting, where an independent source of power is the most logical explanation of where the electricity comes from.
Portable solar panels are used by today's units for charging radios and other equipment at positions with no mains supply. In a diorama they serve two purposes: they place the scene in the present and at the same time give the setting sense, because they explain what powers the other devices. The glossy dark surface of the panel moreover offers a contrast against the flat surfaces of the ground, so it pays to finish it with gloss varnish.
3D-printed parts are small and brittle: separate them with a fine-tooth saw or with nippers and level the remains of the print supports with a fine file. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue); solvent cement for plastic does not hold. Before painting, spray a thin coat of primer, as a heavy coat would drown the detail.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
