Responsibility details are not available.
A set of photo-etched metal parts in 1:35 scale for the modern engineer vehicle Kodiak AEV-3 Pionierpanzer in the German version. As the target kit the manufacturer names Border BT-011. It is not a model of the vehicle but an accessory: modern equipment is full of thin screens, gratings, covers and brackets that cannot be rendered in injection-molded plastic.
The Kodiak is an armored engineer vehicle on the chassis of the Leopard 2 tank, designated in German as Pionierpanzer 3. It was developed from 2002 by Rheinmetall together with a Swiss partner and with the Swiss army, which set the original requirements. Besides Switzerland it was adopted by Sweden, the Netherlands and Singapore, and the German Bundeswehr ordered it as a replacement for older engineer tanks. It works with a dozer blade, an excavator arm with a bucket and winches, so it clears obstacles and opens lanes under fire.
Cut the parts with a scalpel on a hard surface, do not snap them out. Glue the fine screens in spots so that the cyanoacrylate glue does not run into the openings and blind the pattern; glue applied with a pin helps. Run the bends in a bending tool in one pass. Degrease the metal and lay a metal primer under the paint. On modern equipment, restrained weathering works best: wear on the edges of the dozer blade and dust low down, not heavy rust.
It is an accessory for a model, not a kit. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
