The German Torn.Fu.b1 field radio set, 1:35 from Plusmodel: two parts for one set. An accessory for a diorama, not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A portable radio set was the nerve of every unit during the war, and for a diorama builder it is a rewarding object: it explains at once what the figures are doing and gives a scene action. The designation Torn.Fu.b1 comes from the abbreviation for a portable radio set carried on the back, that is equipment the operators carried in a pack-mounted form. The set holds two parts for one radio. It is not a kit of a vehicle but an accessory for a scene.
According to the manufacturer the package holds two parts for one radio set in 1:35 scale. An antenna, figures, paints and glue are not included.
First wash the castings in lukewarm soapy water, so that the remains of the mold release agent disappear from the surface, otherwise the paint will not hold. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw and level the faces with a file, and protect your airways while sanding. It is glued with super glue, that is cyanoacrylate. Add the antenna from thin drawn thread or wire, because no casting will ever be thin enough. Bring the controls and the dials out with a dark wash and a dry brush, so that the set does not read as a smooth box.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the box, unless stated otherwise.
