Second World War barbed wire 1:35 by Plusmodel: a photo-etched fret and wooden parts. An accessory for a diorama, not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
Barbed wire turns an open area into a boundary. On a diorama it marks out space, explains why the figures are walking exactly this way, and adds tension to the scene. Making it by hand from twisted wire is a whole evening's work, and the result tends to be coarse. A photo-etched fret, by contrast, carries the barbs at the right scale and stays thin. The set is complemented by wooden parts for the stakes, so you can build a whole stretch of entanglement from it. It is not a vehicle kit but an accessory for a scene.
According to the manufacturer the package contains a photo-etched fret and wooden parts. Paints, glue and terrain are not included.
Degrease the photo-etched fret and cut the parts out with sharp scissors or off with a scalpel on a hard surface. It is bonded with super glue, that is cyanoacrylate, or soldered. Apply a primer before painting, otherwise the paint will not hold on smooth metal. Do not leave the wire taut like a string: a real entanglement always sags somewhere and one stake leans. Suggest rust with a brown penetrating coat and brown-orange pigments, and gray the wood of the stakes down, because it ages quickly in the rain.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
