A manhole cover is a detail nobody notices until it is missing. An empty paved area without a single cover reads like a film set, while one cast iron circle turns it at once into a piece of a real street. The set brings covers cast in resin with the pattern engraved on the face. It is not a vehicle kit or a display base but a small accessory that is set into the terrain.
The package contains resin castings representing manhole covers in 1:35 scale. The manufacturer does not state the exact number of pieces. Terrain, paints and glue are not included.
First wash the parts in lukewarm soapy water so that the mold release residue disappears from the surface, otherwise the paint will not hold. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw and true the back up so that the cover does not lie crooked in the terrain. It is bonded with super glue, that is cyanoacrylate. Set the cover into a paved area so that it sits a fraction lower than the surrounding paving, because that is exactly how it looks in reality. Cast iron comes out well if you paint it dark gray, let a dark penetrating coat flow into the engraved pattern and go over the raised places with a dry brush.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
