Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit in 1:35 scale from Amusing Hobby, part number 35A036, a new tooling from 2019. The real subject is a paper project: the Rheintochter R-1 guided anti-aircraft missile on a launcher carried by the chassis of the Panther II heavy tank. Besides the injection-molded parts the box also contains photo-etched metal parts and copper cable, so it is a mixed-media kit. According to the manufacturer the launch rail is movable.
The Rheintochter was a German guided anti-aircraft missile developed by the Rheinmetall-Borsig company from 1942. The two-stage R-1 version had solid-fuel motors, a conspicuous array of small wings and radio command guidance from a ground operator. Trials ran in 1943 and 1944, the program was stopped at the beginning of 1945, and the missile never saw combat use. The mobile launcher on a tracked chassis stayed at the design stage, because the second generation of the Panther never reached series production.
Finish and paint the running gear and the inside of the hull before you close the hull. Bend the photo-etched parts over a metal edge and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue, not with cement for plastic. No period photograph exists, so the choice of camouflage is up to the builder; most people reach for a late German scheme over a dark yellow base. Complete the weathering with a wash in the recesses and dust pigments on the running gear.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
