Responsibility details are not available.
A kit of the Soviet reconnaissance armored car in its early production form. The early version label matters here, because the BRDM-2 was built for decades and the details of its equipment, hatches and fittings changed during production. The vehicle is a rewarding subject also because it spread to dozens of countries and in various forms serves to this day, so it fits scenes from the Cold War right up to present-day conflicts.
The BRDM-2 is a four-wheeled armored car intended for reconnaissance. It has two peculiarities that make it unmistakable. The first is the two pairs of small belly wheels hidden under the hull between the axles: they were lowered when crossing a ditch or soft ground and kept the long vehicle from rocking and getting stuck. The second is its amphibious capability. The vehicle floats and in the water it is driven by a water jet in the rear, so it needs neither a bridge nor a ford.
Finish and paint the chassis and the interior before you close the hull up. Paint the belly wheels under the hull separately and decide whether you will build them lowered or raised. Test fit the turret dry and check that it turns. After painting, weather the model with a wash and pigments, concentrating on the lower hull and the wheels, where an amphibious vehicle picks up the most mud.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
