A photo-etched metal set in 1:35 scale for a model of the German light reconnaissance half-track Sd.Kfz. 250/9 in the new hull form, armed with a gun of two centimeters caliber. This is not a kit but a set of thin metal parts for detailing a model. It replaces plastic fenders, shields, brackets and other parts that are meant to be sheet metal, and on an open vehicle a lot of them are visible.
The Sd.Kfz. 250 was a light half-track armored personnel carrier on which, in the course of production, a simplified hull with a smaller number of armor plates was adopted. The 250/9 version carried a small rotating turret with a gun of two centimeters caliber and a machine gun, and in the reconnaissance units it replaced wheeled armored cars where the terrain was too demanding for wheels. The vehicle had a fighting compartment open at the top.
Cut photo-etched sheet on a hard surface with sharp etch scissors or a scalpel, and never break a part out. Make the bends in a bending tool or at least between two blades, so that the edge is sharp and in the right place. Degrease the parts with alcohol, glue them with super glue, that is with cyanoacrylate, and apply primer to the metal, otherwise the paint will not hold. On an open vehicle it pays to paint the etched parts before assembly, because you will be able to see inside.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
