An injection-molded plastic model of the German half-track armored personnel carrier Sd.Kfz.251/1 Ausf.B in 1:35 scale from the Ukrainian brand ICM. The kit captures the second rendition (Ausf.B) of this famous carrier and offers a detailed chassis, running gear and optional building, for example with the machine gun shield, radio equipment or an antenna.
The Sd.Kfz.251 was the key German half-track armored personnel carrier, developed by the Hanomag company on the basis of the Sd.Kfz.11 artillery tractor. The Ausf.B rendition, built in the years 1939 to 1940, brought a number of changes; the most conspicuous was the removal of the vision ports in the side walls of the hull. Vehicles of this version took part, among other things, in the fighting in the Balkans, in Operation Barbarossa and in service in North Africa.
With armored vehicles, assemble and paint the running gear and the inside of the hull before you close it up. Glue the plastic parts with thin model cement and any small parts with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Apply a primer and spray the paints with an airbrush in thin coats. You will bring the interior and the armor to life with a wash in the recesses, lightening of the surfaces and dust pigments for a faithful patina.
