A loader's hatch with an FN MAG machine gun for the Leopard 2 tank in 1:35 scale from Spalah. A resin accessory, not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is an accessory for a model, not a model of a tank: a loader's hatch complete with an FN MAG machine gun of the kind carried by some Leopard 2 tanks. The scale is 1:35. The maker is the Ukrainian brand Spalah, which 3D-prints its parts from photopolymer resin. Printing makes clear sense here, because with its barrel ribs, sights and mount the machine gun is among the finest parts on the turret, and the plastic version usually simplifies it.
The FN MAG is a Belgian 7.62 mm general-purpose machine gun in service with dozens of armies. On Leopard 2 tanks it appears with the operators who have it as their standard machine gun, in particular in Dutch, Danish, Canadian and Portuguese service. German tanks carry the domestic MG3 in the same role. The difference is clearly visible on the turret, which is why the manufacturer offers both versions as separate sets.
Wash the print resin residue off the parts, cut the print supports away and sand the marks with respiratory protection. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Try the fit on the turret dry before gluing and level the glued face if need be. Paint the machine gun separately, off the turret, so that the weapon and the hatch can be worked on apart. The barrel comes to life with a dark wash and a fine dry brush along the edges.
This is an accessory, not a kit. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
