An injection-molded plastic kit of the German sWS heavy half-track tractor in the anti-aircraft form with a 2 cm quadruple mount in 1:35 scale from Bronco. It is one of the most striking forms of the whole sWS family, because the open platform with the four-barreled weapon is the main feature of the model.
The sWS, in full the Schwerer Wehrmachtschlepper, was a German heavy half-track tractor developed in the second half of the war as a simpler replacement for the older half-tracks. The anti-aircraft form carried a 2 cm quadruple mount on the body — a weapon with four barrels on a single mounting, which gave a very high rate of fire and was used against low-flying aircraft as well as against ground targets. Only a few hundred vehicles were built and the anti-aircraft forms were among the rarest.
The four-barreled weapon has many small parts and is the most visible thing on the model, so give it time and assemble it separately. Drill out the muzzles of all four barrels if they are not open; on a quadruple mount a filled muzzle is twice as noticeable. Finish and paint the running gear and the tracks before you fit the body. Spent cartridge cases and magazines on the platform give the scene some action. Concentrate the dust effects on the lower part and on the track.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
