An American motor grader in 1:35 scale from Plusmodel. A complete resin kit; it is not a plastic model.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is a complete resin kit, that is, a model made up of castings rather than of injection-molded plastic. The real subject is an American motor grader, a machine with a long frame and an obliquely adjustable blade hung between the front axle and the rear wheels. In the 1940s and 1950s machines like this were widely used in building field airstrips and roads, so on a diorama they represent hardware that belongs to a military scene and yet appears only rarely in models. The 1:35 scale matches ordinary models of military vehicles and figures.
The shape of a motor grader follows directly from its task. The longer the frame between the axles, the more steadily the machine runs and the flatter the surface it leaves behind, because an irregularity under one wheel is only partly transferred to the position of the blade. That is exactly why graders look so unusually elongated, and their basic layout has not changed to this day.
First wash the resin parts in lukewarm water with detergent so that any mold release agent disappears. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw and level the surfaces with a file; do the work in a ventilated room and protect your breathing. Bond with super glue and apply a base coat before painting. Dry-fit the frame and the axles, because on a long chassis a small deviation shows up as a twist of the whole machine. Weather the blade and the working parts with wear down to bare metal, because they were the most heavily worked in service.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
