A set of printed resin tires with an off-road tread for building the Soviet UAZ-469 off-road vehicle in 1:35 scale from the Russian brand Quinta Studio. The box gives the UAZ-469 from Zvezda as the target kit. This is an accessory to a kit, not a model of the vehicle; the plastic kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
The UAZ-469 was a Soviet light off-road vehicle with all-wheel drive, which became the standard liaison and command vehicle of the Eastern Bloc armies and at the same time a working tool for foresters, geologists and farmers. Its strengths were high ground clearance, simple repair and the ability to get through where the road ended. On unpaved ground the vehicle often appeared on exactly these coarse tires with a pronounced tread.
Printed resin parts are hard and brittle, so handle them with care. First wash them in warm soapy water so that the print resin residue disappears from the surface and the paint will hold. Cut off the supports with a saw or a cutting disc, never with nippers. Sand the mating surface flat and glue the parts with cyanoacrylate glue or epoxy, because cement for plastic will not hold here. Wear a respirator while sanding, or sand wet.
