A Waffen-SS tanker sitting on a turret is a resin figure in 1:35 scale from Royal Model. The figure is conceived so that it seats on the turret of a model of an armored vehicle.

A collector's figure for a diorama representing a German tanker of the Waffen-SS units in a moment of rest on the turret of a vehicle. The pose is the main thing with this item: the figure sits with its legs hanging free and its body leaning back, so it cannot be stood on a flat surface; it belongs on a model of a tank, where it only then makes sense and closes the scene off compositionally.
German tank crews wore a short double-breasted jacket with large lapels and looser trousers gathered at the ankle, a cut designed for the cramped space of a fighting vehicle, where a long coat gets in the way. It is this clothing that immediately sets the figure apart from infantry, and it is good to work with when painting: the large smooth surfaces of the lapel and the back positively invite working with shadows. In summer the jackets were also set aside and crews rode in their shirts, which opens up a further color option on a model.
Try the figure on the turret dry before gluing, so that it sits at the right angle; depending on the type of vehicle it sometimes helps to sand the underside of the thighs lightly. Degrease the resin and cut the casting blocks off. Cyanoacrylate glue holds well, but it is advisable to support the joint between the figure and the metal or plastic surface of the turret with a wire pin as well. The jacket looks best when you darken the base shade in the folds and lighten the edges slightly instead.
The item is without a surface finish, ready to be glued together and painted.
