A set of resin figures in 1:35 scale, the manufacturer's part number FI35-146. It shows German tank crewmen in summer dress. It is not a vehicle kit but a group of separate figures for turret hatches, for the hull or for a diorama. Two parallel numbers in the same series, FI35-144 and FI35-145, carry the same characters individually, so this set brings them together in one package.
In the summer months German tank units wore a lighter version of the uniform: a cloth blouse or just a shirt, sleeves rolled up, often without a jacket and without the gear that would get in the way in the heat and in the cramped space of a vehicle. This informal look is exactly what makes summer figures rewarding in scenes with a resting crew, while loading ammunition or at open hatches on the march.
Wash the castings in warm soapy water before any paint goes on them. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw, sand the surface flat and glue the parts with cyanoacrylate glue. The summer uniform is light and the bare hands and faces take up more area than on a winter figure, so expect to mix the flesh tones more carefully. Practice the camouflage patterns on the cloth on a spare casting first, because on an area the size of a sleeve a mistake has nowhere to hide.
This is an accessory for a model, not a kit. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
