A kit of a small bell tower for a diorama in 1:35 scale. It is made up of six resin parts. It is not a model of a vehicle or of a full-size building but a scenic element in its own right, which gives a rural or village scene a clear sense of place.
Every good scene needs a point that the viewer knows stood there before military vehicles reached the place. A bell tower fills that role perfectly: it is a civilian, peaceful element that creates a contrast beside a vehicle and at the same time gives the scene a vertical line. In the flat landscape of a diorama such a vertical element is the most valuable thing that can be added.
First wash the resin parts in lukewarm soapy water and let them dry. Cut the casting blocks off and level the area, and protect your breathing while sanding. They are glued with super glue. Plaster looks best after a light base and thin glazes, which let the texture of the casting show through. Add a darker wash into the joints and under the eaves, because that is exactly where dirt holds. Paint the bell and the metal parts differently and oxidize them slightly.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted; glue and paints are not included in the box.
