1:350 Soviet Nuclear-powered Submarine pr.661 Anchar/Papa-class is a plastic kit of the Soviet project 661 nuclear missile submarine from the Ukrainian maker Mikromir. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted.

A plastic kit in 1:350 scale from the Ukrainian maker Mikromir. The subject is project 661 Anchar, in the NATO code the Papa class - the single unit built, the submarine K-222. Beside the plastic parts the package also contains decals and a fine photo-etched fret from which the propeller blades are assembled; check the extent on the box.
Project 661 was a missile attack boat intended to destroy surface ships, above all carrier strike groups. She carried P-70 Ametist anti-ship guided missiles, which she could launch from under water. She was the first submarine with a hull of titanium and during trials in 1970 reached a speed of 44.7 knots under water - the highest ever achieved below the surface by a manned craft. She holds the record to this day. There was a price for the speed, however: the specification lacked a requirement for noise suppression, so at high speed the submarine was clearly audible and easily detected. Because of cost and noise she remained the only one.
Glue the halves of the hull at once and then fill and sand the long joint - on a curved hull every unevenness shows. The photo-etched propeller blades are the finest part of the set; bend them on a metal base and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue. Unify the hull with a primer coat and lighten the black paint, or the model will merge into the display case.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
